Interstate was selected as one of 12 productions as part of the Next Link Project at New York Musical Festival, the largest annual musical theater festival in America. It was the first time we put on a staged production of our work!

Over the course of NYMF (July 9-August 5), we had six performances of Interstate:

  • Monday, July 9, 2018 at 7:00 pm
  • Thursday, July 12, 2018 at 9:00 pm
  • Friday, July 13, 2018 at 5:00 pm
  • Saturday, July 14, 2018 at 9:00 pm
  • Sunday, July 15, 2018 at 1:00 pm
  • Sunday, July 15, 2018 at 5:00 pm *newly added performance

Now in its 15th year, NYMF continues to support new musical theater artists, producers, and projects by providing dramaturgical support, production resources, and networking opportunities. Four NYMF shows have opened on Broadway, including Next to Normal and [title of show].

Interstate addresses racism, sexism, misogyny, transphobia, homophobia, toxic masculinity, and xenophobia head-on by telling the story of queer Asians who face oppression at the intersection of their identities.
